Pay money to victims of ‘Double Shah’, SC tells NAB
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on Friday ordered the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to expedite the process of compensation distribution among the victims of infamous ‘Ponzi scheme’ con-artist ‘Double Shah’.
“As NAB has explained its plan for distributing the available amount to the claimants, therefore no further action is called for,” the CJP observed. Yousuf Janjua, a resident of Gujranwala, had asked the court to help him recover his money. A NAB report said: “Double Shah has been arrested, his property confiscated. Rs 971 million have also been recovered from the accused through voluntary returns and plea bargains.” masood rehman
